Our Review

It may not look like much but this little portable gas stove really is a cracking piece of kit. I mean you could use it for just about anything because it is small enough to pack in a backpack or in with your fishing gear. It’s really convenient too because it comes in its own little plastic carry case that holds it all together and protects it. If you need something slightly bigger with perhaps 2 hobs then you could always just consider buying two of these to sit side by side.

Because of its compact nature and there not being a whole lot to the stove it makes it really easy to clean and maintain. It uses the CP250 liquid butane cartridges which are nice and easy to fit – you simply open the flap at the back and slide the bottle into place, and then close the flap behind it. The bottle can remain attached to the stove and travel with it until it needs replacing. Replacing the cartridge is equally as simple. One gas canister could quite easily manage 2 meals a day for four people over 1 weekend.

The replacement gas canisters are very cheap to buy and generally cost from £1.50 each depending on where you shop. You can save yourself a few quid by buying the cartridges in bulk, I have seen them online for as cheap as £27 for a pack of 28 which is a massive saving on buying them separately or in packs of 4.

The shape and size of the stove allows it to sit low to the ground and so is very sturdy, much more so than the older Campingaz stoves.

To summarise, I would say that everyone should have one of these stoves in their home. They are ultra handy. This particular model is almost identical to other more expensive models on the market but does the very same things, essentially it is just a different colour. So if you are looking for a good quality cheap alternative to a full on kitchen this is your stove.

What do you think?
