Our Review

This stove is very similar to the Campingaz Camping Chef (number 2 in the top 10) that we have also reviewed. The main differences being that this stove has one additional burner and doesn’t have any wind guards on the sides. Otherwise they are near enough the same.

What really stood out for me while using this stove is that the hobs operate very much like conventional household hobs – which is great as you don’t have to learn to use something different. The auto ignition made lighting the hobs and grill extremely easy.

The grill took longer than some to heat up but once it got going it did the job just fine. Another plus point we discovered about it is that while using the grill and not using the hobs you can use the heat from the grill to keep things warm by placing them over the hob – double bonus.

The lid folded back and acted as a wind deflector which was nice, although there are no side wind guards the hobs did not blow out in the persistent wind.

When packed away the stove folds together very neatly and weighs only about 5 kg which makes it nice and easy to transport and to store. Being rectangular it can slide in the boot and have things stacked on top of it without causing any damage to the stove itself.

Another plus point about this camping gas stove is that can be used with any gas bottle. You will of course need to purchase the correct regulator for the bottle and a length of hose to suit as these are not included with the stove. It can also operate using both butane and propane – I would recommend propane if possible as it can be used all year round and i cheaper and lighter than the butane gas.

To conclude I can’t find anything negative to say so I won’t try. A quality piece of kit at a great price. Perfect for those long weekends or for a BBQ on the beach!
