Vango Compact Gas Stove
The Vango Compact Gas Stove comes in at number 10 on the list of top 10 camping stoves. It is a relatively new product to the market but is already proving to make quite an impact. It really is great when I get the opportunity to try out these camping stoves and give them a write up here. But it is rare that I should actually find one that I simply have to buy. After using the Vango compact gas stove, I jumped straight on to Amazon and bought one. Why did I like it so much?
You may remember that I recently the Campingaz Twister Plus here on Camping Stove HQ – It is a very similar design that clips to a gas cylinder but something about the Vango just really resonated with me. It felt better quality and certainly looked liked there was a lot more trouble that went in to actually producing it, I am sure it is mass produced but I was still very impressed with the quality.
It is compact, but it is not tiny. However, the designers of this nifty little stove have managed to make an extremely useful cooking accessory that can slide into most backpacks. The red case that it is photographed with is what comes with it. It is long and thin and made from plastic which is lightweight and durable. The stove itself only weighs 106g!
The baffles on the blades protect the flame from the wind and fold away when it goes in to the storage box. It will boil 1 litre of water in 4 minutes, but as the gas runs out this time can start to slow down a bit so make sure you always have a full canister handy.
As you can tell, I loved it enough to purchase one myself. So go on, give it a try.
