Coleman Unleaded Sportster Petrol Stove
Here we have another petrol stove from Coleman; the Unleaded Sportster. It is a free standing stove that operates using unleaded petrol fuel. This is an extremely high performance stove that produce 2500w of power.
This stove has received a strong number of positive reviews from previous buyers on Amazon.co.uk. The buyers have given it an average rating of 4.6 out of 5 stars which I would say is pretty impressive.
Now let us take a look at some of the technical details about this stove:
|Ignition||Manual (match or lighter)|
|Boil time||5 minutes 20 seconds|
|Runtime||8 hours 30 minutes max|
|Carry case included?||Yes|
|Power source||Unleaded Petrol or Coleman Liquid Fuel|
|Dimensions||12 x 15|
|Ideal for||Camping, caravanning, motorhoming, beach visits, picnics, hiking, backpacking and fishing|
This is the second petrol stove from Coleman that I have reviewed. But they are two very different stoves. The other was a double burner camp kitchen style stove while this is a single burner free standing stove.
The stove comes complete with its own little durable, hard plastic carry case to make it easy to carry around and to store. The case is small enough to slide in to most backpacking bags and is a really lightweight stove at only 1.19kg.
As we have already discussed, the stove runs off of unleaded petrol, or you could choose to purchase Coleman’s own Liquid Fuel which does the exact same job. Although, I would have though that the petrol would end up being cheaper.
I found the stove to be of the highest possible build quality which is what I would expect for the £60 price tag, but I truly believe that this stove is robust enough to last you a good 30+ years of camping.
Here is a video demonstration of how to light the stove:
This stove has a great advantage over most in that pretty much whatever country you visit you will always be able to get the petrol to fill it up. I haven’t heard of a country yet whose cars don’t use unleaded or diesel.
Overall, a stunning piece of equipment made from the very best materials by one of the best manufacturers in the business, Coleman. You can find a range of Coleman’s other stoves reviewed here on our website.
